Green grass covers the center of Mount Aspiring School. Absentmindedly, students meander between the trees as groups huddle on the ground. Above, a blisteringly hot sun bakes the unshaded area. Aimless chatter fills the air from the many clusters of schoolkids and warm fried food wafts through the air. Lazily teachers loiter the grounds, supposedly looking out for trouble.
